Shaitant is a species of jinn born from the ashes of Jahannam. They turned people mad tormenting them and causing them to do sin. They appeared in many different shapes, such as voluptuous women, wild animals, sprites or voices in the desert winds. They inhabited market places, deserts, wastelands and crossroads. The are mentioned in the text Tales of the One Thousand and One Nights.
