Quzah (Arabic: قزح) is one of the names for Shaytan. He was the god of storms and thunder, worshiped by the people of Muzdalifah. He carried a bow and arrows which, when fired, causes hailstorms. In ancient Arabia, the center of his cult was nearby Makkah.
it is said that Prophet Muhammad forbade his people calling the rainbow qausa quzah, because quzah is one of the names of a shaytan (one who can assume many characters in order to tempt the sons of men). He enjoined them to call it Qausu ‘llah. Allah's bow, because by it, Allah has promised to protect the world front a second deluge.
