The hinn (Arabic: الحن) is a tribe of the jinn to which jet-black dogs belong, or the meanest and weakest of the jinn and their dogs, or creatures between men and jinn, Although many sources describe the hinn as powerful gigantic primordial creatures.
In Wonders of Creation (كتاب عجائب المخلوقات وغرائب الموجودات), Zakarīyā’ ibn Muḥammad al-Qazwīnī claimed to have sighted these creatures in Arabia, Persia, and India.
