Ar-Raw'ah or ar-Ru'h (Arabic: الروعة), appears as a large beautiful peacock wearing a grand golden crown, holding a herdsman’s staff, with a large colorful spread out tail. It resides in the dark depths of caves, grottos and underground areas. When it attacks its victim it causes extreme fright for three seemingly endless days without rest, causing one to fear any light, leaving them in horrible darkness both of the mind and body. If not cured in three days time, the victim’s sight will become permanently damaged or lost.
Misceláneo de Salomón[]
Then the ninth Tayleq (الطليق), named ar-Ru'h, entered in the form of a peacock whose crown was spread out. In his hand was a shepherd's crook and his tail was fanned to his head. Sulaiman, peace be upon him, said to him, "What is your corruption? Where is your residence?" He said, "I reside in caverns. My corruption is that I appear and come toward a boy so I frighten him. I make him stutter, and invert his sight so he can't look at the lamp without panic. Once three days has passed for him like this and he hasn't been cured, he becomes cross-eyed." Fiqitush said, "The medicine for this, O prophet of Allah, is to sniff gentian, the bile of a ram and Swiss chard juice. Write for him also these names and he will be cured by permission of Allah: 'Ahya (اهيا), Ahya, Ahya, Sherahya (شراهيا), Sherahya, Sherahya, Allah is a king that does not want. Holy, Holy, Holy, Allah, there is no Ilah but He the King, the Apparent Truth. Hya (هيا), Hya, Beh (به), Beh, Beh, Lahu (له), Lahu, Lahu, Hu (هو), Hu, Lord of the Highest Light, Ah (اه), Ah, Ah, Wah (واه), Wah, Wah, Sabaot (صباوت), Sabaot, Allah is the Lord of the Highest Light, of Illumination, and of Beautiful Brilliance. Allah is the Protector. Allah is the Preventer. Allah is the Defender. Allah is the Healer. He is Allah Who heals, who has no other healer. O He Who supports, who has no support; O, Ever Living, O Self Sustaining One, who has taken neither a wife nor a child.'"
